Prototype Information
Built by English Electric between 1953 and 1954, these
locomotives were intended
for use on the Melbourne to Traralgon
line. Only one of the class survives in operation, although two
other members are also preserved, one (#1150, the class leader)
is in the ARHS railway museum.
Model Information
This model represents the L class electric locomotives. It currently
covers the majority of variations, exlcluding the L1171 'modified'
variation, and the 'standard' upgraded variation (dual marker
light and moved horn being the main changed). It will however
cover the following versions: VR 'as built'; VR 'in service';
VicRail 'Teacup'; V/Line
Tangerine (L1156); V/Line Orange and
Grey. The models will also have the following features:
*Automatically assigned running numbers (where appropriate)
*Operational marker lights and tail discs
*Animated couplers and brake hoses
*Optional broad gauge and standard gauge wheel sets
