Prototype Information
The ALXautomobile Transport wagons were built between 1962
and 1970. They were used mostly for the transport of cars from the
FORD factory in Broadmeadows to Sydney, and from the Chrysler
(Later Mitsubishi) cars from Adelaide to Melbourne. The ALX
wagons were built in 3 batches. The first two batches were built
with fully enclosed sides. The third batch had two paralell strips
of wood down the sides (most were rebuilt with fully closed sides).
The fourth batch had open sides.
Model Information
This model represents the first 2-3 batches of wagons with the fully
enclosed sides in the VR livery. This model was started by
Tommylommykins, who created the textures and most of the
mesh. All I did was add attachments, and finish off some small
details. Many thanks to Tom for allowing me to finish this project.
